Plane Headed for Cape Crashes in NJ Killing Two

A plane headed to Barnstable Municipal Airport in Hyannis from South Jersey Regional Airport in Lumberton, New Jersey crashed shortly after takeoff, killing two people onboard.

The plane, a Hawker Beechcraft Baron 58 dropped off radar about an hour after takeoff Wednesday morning at 9:09 a.m.

The plane went down in Springfield Township, New Jersey.

An investigation is underway by the F.A.A. and the National Transportation Safety Board.

 The identities of the two people killed have not been released pending notification of family.
