9TH District Congressman, Bill Keating, is one of more than 160 members of the U.S. House to introduce HR-5087, the Assault Weapons Ban.
That ban would prohibit the sale, transfer, production, and importation of
Semi-automatic rifles and handguns that can accept a detachable magazine.Semi-automatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds.Semi-automatic shotguns with a military-style featureAny ammunition feeding device that can hold more than ten rounds, and 205 specifically-named and listed firearms.
Keating, in a news release, said Assault weapons are weapons of war. There is no need for them for personal protection or sport and there is absolutely no need for them in our communities.
