9th District Congressman Bill Keating says the most recent missile launch by North Korea is yet another provocation by Pyongyang.
Keating, the ranking member of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade, was also critical of the current administration’s response to North Korea’s launching a missile over Japan.
Keating said addressing these issues takes strong and committed leadership, not diplomacy by social media.
He added he supported sanctions on Russia, Iran, and North Korea believing they were a necessary step in tackling North Korea’s continued provocations. However, he has not seen this administration capitalize on that momentum and move forward in a deliberate and focused manner to address this very real national security threat to the United States and its allies.
